Song Unsung

Written by Rosey Thomas Palmer

I ‘ve a phone, maintain my bike or my car.
In it I travel circuitous routes and far.
I’m a carer, a cleaner, taxi driver, Deliveroo.
I’ve an I D , a badge and a uniform too.
I cost you so little, risk covid and flu.
My contract is zero, my benefits are few.
I’m a fringe to society, replaceable, that’s true,
But I’m their brother, their sister,
Their husband or their wife,
In lock down I am out, enabling your life.
